Hi, and welcome to the Magnum Opus Press website. We’ve just released the Dragon Warriors RPG, and things here are getting a make-over: we’re rearranging the website, changing the way it works, and adding a lot of pages with new content about the game, support materials for it, and so forth. So things may be a bit disorganised, broken or incomplete for a little while. Sorry for that.

What’s new? Well, Dragon Warriors is new—and selling like crazy. Some retailers have been a bit reluctant to stock it, but that’s created crazy mail-order demand for the rulebook and the Bestiary, so much that Mongoose Publishing (our co-publishers on the game) are finding it almost impossible to keep stock in their warehouse. Spare copies are so scarce that Dave Morris and Oliver Johnson, the two authors who originally created DW in the 1980s and who still own and control the game, haven’t seen the new edition yet. It’s great. Bonkers, but great.

Speaking of Dave and Oliver, they’re going to be our guests at the official launch event for Dragon Warriors that are happening at the games convention Dragonmeet 2008, in central London this Saturday (29th November). Lead artist Jon Hodgson, adventure writer Frazer Payne, and MO Press supremo James Wallis will be there as well. The guys at Mongoose have promised that there will be DW rulebooks and copies of the Bestiary on sale, plus there’ll be a panel discussion and Q&A at 11.30, a signing session at the Mongoose stand at 12.30, and demos of the game running throughout the day. We may also have a limited-edition DW item on sale for the show. And Game Night author Jonny Nexus will be selling and signing his book. Come! Have fun! Buy cool game stuff as Christmas presents!

Sleeping Gods, the first Dragon Warriors campaign, is away at the printers but looking good for a December release. More news here when we have it.

If you have a local independant games shop please support them, or we’ll lose them.
